’Tis the season for sparkles, cheer, and, of course, gift-giving! Should this year’s list of people to shop for be a long one, I’m here to help with curated gift guide featuring the best holiday gifts for 2023. Below, a hand-picked selection of beautiful items coming from my favorite niche brands and artisans from all over the world. Happy holidays and happy shopping to you and yours!
(In case you’ve missed it, here’s my Dream Gift Guide featuring my beloved Polish brands: part I and part II!)
Maryam Keyhani is one of my favorite Berlin-based artists and designers. Her fashion brand offers the most fantastic headwear you can imagine, as well as off-kilter accessories. I’m in love with surrealist Hand capsule which features a neoprene headband and bag. These are literally all-hands gifts!
P.s. In 2024, I’ve got to finally visit Maryam’s boutique in Berlin.
How about a a good sip of a sun-drenched delight during this snowy winter? Vivanterre’s Orange Contact is exactly that. Vivanterre, founded by Rosie and Max Assoulin, is a natural wine produced in the Auvergne region of France. Using organically and biodynamically farmed grapes, vinified using natural processes, and untouched by any fining, filtering, or added sulfites, Vivanterre reflects the “living earth” from which it comes.
FYI: in Poland, it’s available at Natural Rascal.
I love great, warm socks. Kapital, the Japanese brand founded in 1984, has some amazing mélange styles in absolutely gorgeous color palettes. You can shop them at Covet & Lou in different shades.
Speaking of socks, how about these Nadiia socks, hand-woven by Ukrainian craftswomen? These socks improve blood circulation, and from that, you get a feeling of a gentle tingling in your legs. Note how well they are packed!
If you’re in search for a wearable artwork, look no further: this Spolia bag, carved entirely by hand from a single block of walnut wood, is really something. It’s definitely an heirloom-kind-of gift.
